Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
How do I connect my bank account?
We use Plaid to securely connect to your bank accounts. Simply tap "Connect Account" in the app, search for your bank, and follow the prompts to log in. Your credentials are never stored by us—only a secure access token to fetch your transactions.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes! We use industry-leading security measures. Most importantly, we do not store any transaction data in our database. Your transactions are fetched directly from Plaid and processed on your device. Only authentication tokens are stored securely.
Which banks are supported?
We support over 11,000 financial institutions through Plaid, including major banks like Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and many credit unions and online banks.
Using the App
What is the heatmap grid?
The heatmap grid is a visual calendar where each cell represents one day. The color intensity shows your spending for that day. It's an intuitive way to see your spending patterns at a glance.
How do I view transactions for a specific day?
Simply tap on any cell in the heatmap grid. This will display all transactions for that day, including merchant names, amounts, and categories.
Can I customize the colors?
Yes! You can customize the heatmap colors in the app settings. Choose colors that match your style or help you better visualize your spending.
How do I filter by category?
Tap on the category breakdown section to view spending by category (food, shopping, entertainment, etc.). You can filter the heatmap to show only transactions from specific categories.
Privacy & Data
Where is my transaction data stored?
Your transaction data is NOT stored in our database. Transactions are fetched directly from Plaid when you open the app and processed on your device. When you close the app, the data is cleared from memory.
What data do you collect?
We only store:
- User authentication data (for login)
- Plaid access tokens (to fetch your transactions)
- App preferences (like color settings)
We do NOT store transaction amounts, dates, merchants, or any financial details. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I disconnect my accounts?
Absolutely! You can disconnect any linked account at any time through the app settings or directly through Plaid's privacy portal.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your authentication data and Plaid tokens from our servers. Since we don't store transaction data, there's no financial data to delete.
Account Management
Can I track multiple accounts?
Yes! You can connect multiple bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to get a complete picture of your spending in one heatmap.
How often does the data update?
Transaction data is fetched in real-time from Plaid whenever you open the app or manually refresh. The freshness of data depends on how quickly your bank provides updates to Plaid (typically within 24-48 hours of a transaction).

Understanding the Heatmap
How are colors calculated?
The color intensity of each cell represents the total spending for that day. Higher spending results in more intense colors. You can customize the color scheme to match your preferences.
What do empty cells mean?
Empty or lightly colored cells indicate days with no transactions or minimal spending. This helps you quickly identify spending patterns and low-activity days.
